TAIERI AMATEUR CLUB’S FIXTURE FAST TIMES RECORDED Some fast- times were recorded at the evening athletic meet held on the Mosgiel Recreation Ground last night under the auspices of the Taieri Amateur Athletic Club, and, though the track was a little on the rough side, it proved to bo fast, and the prevailing conditions were almost perfect. The meeting was a decided success, there being a good attendance of the public, who saw large fields in practic- ! ally every event, most of the town clubs being well represented. Both cycling events were well contested, though the two-mile handicap was marred by accident, the Otago champion, S. Bremford, coming down, though fortunately ho escaped serious injury. E. Palmer (10yds) won in smin 39sec, the mile going to J. Campbell (100yds) in 2min 43 l-ssec. On a rather rough grass track these times represent really good performances.
