THE SALVATION ARMY
ROYAL TRIBUTE PAID DUKE AND DUCHESS ATTEND FESTIVAL. LONDON, February 15. A Royal tribute was paid to the Salvation Army when the Duke and Duchess of York drove to Clapton amid thousands of cheering people to attend the Army composers’ festival. The Duke of York said: “ Band music is martial, cheering, and inspiring. Your founder’s life was a story of ceaseless self-sacrifice, and a glorious chapter in the history of the Empire. Ho was a real leader, with sympathy, _ personality, and ideals. The Army is nobly carrying on the great traditions.”-
