NEW ZEALAND BOWLERS

WIN AGAINST NEW SOUTH WALES [Per United Press Association,] SYDNEY, February 15. The New Zealand bowlers played their first match since leaving the dominion against a New South Wales team composed of the presidents and leading members of Sydney clubs. Owing to recent rains the green was somewhat heavier than the New Zealanders are used to, but towards tho finish they picked up their game. They more than hold their own, with the exception of two rinks, one of which could not get going._ During the afternoon tea a reception was tendered to the team by the New South Wales Bowling Association, Mr Scott, the president, extending a hearty welcome and wishing the team every success in its coming tour. Mr J. Hardley, lender of the New Zealanders responded, and issued a standing invitation to a New South Wales team to visit New Zealand. He especially hoped to see a team competing in the next dominion tournament, and referred to the cordial relations which had always existed between New Zealand and New South Wales bowlers. Following are the scores:—W. Hardley, Marker, Needham, Hutchison 21, New South Wales 15; Rogers, Rose, Coutts,_ Carson 20, New South Wales 12; Smith, J. M.
