Fleet street “ bobbie ” where he could find a doctor. “Turn up Hind court into Gough square,” said the policeman, “There is a doctor that lives there on the left-hand side. I think his name is Johnson. I noticed the name plate one day as I walked by.” The tourist followed instructions, and found the house indicated. On the wall was a name plate which read: “.Hr Samuel Johnson,-’ In smaller letters were the words: “Author, lived here. Born 1709, died 1784.’-’
