NOTES ON THE RACING. [By St. Claik.] Eenlmm, who was made a, better favorite than Caramba for the LiJbuni Handicap and led all the way, is a three-year-old gelding by Eleetham from Miss Glen, and won a double at the Tokanui-Eortrose Hack Meeting' last Wednesday. Gong, who finished second, is the first of Burrangong’s stock to win money. In a field of live Blackfriar was much better backed than Hushabyo for the Tuatapere Saddle Trot. Blackfriar and Blanche led for a 'mile. Then Eons joined the favorite at the home turn, but Hnshabye caught them at the distance post and won easily. Takaka, in the Belmont Hack Handicap, took charge three furlongs from home, and ran in an easy winner by over two lengths from Divinial. A field of seven started in the Clifden Gup, for which Kilbarry was a little better backed than Equerry and Solzia, only the three being backed. Some Kid and Riton led Solzia for six furlongs. Then the latter got knocked back, and Bloom ran to the front and led into the straight from Solzia, who went up on the outside of the field and beat Equerry by a nose. The latter got blocked through trying to get up on the rails; otherwise he would have won. Only four started in the Orawai Hack Steeplechase, and Blazing Light and Soldier’s Dream wore the only two backed. Cazna led Blazing Light all the way, and beat him very easily by twenty lengths. Both the other starters stopped. Takaka, with a 101 b penalty, was wcjl hacked to win the Waiau Hack Handicap, with Gong the best supported of the others. The latter and Navy Cut led the favorite all the way, Gong beating Takaka by a length at the finish, with Navy Cut two lengths off third. There were only three starters in the Alton Saddle Trot, and one of them, Great Gun. took no part in the race, refusing to leave the mark. Sunshade, who was a little better backed than Hnshabye, le'd all the way, and beat him by two lengths. A field of seven went to the post for the Farewell Handicap, and Soltoe was sent out a good favorite, with only Bugle Note of the others well backed. The favorite got away badly, and Divinial was the first out. She led Bloom, Some Kid, and Kilbarry along the back and into the straight, where the favorite made a forward move, but he could not get up, and Divinial stayed on to win by a length and aquarter from Bloom, with Kilbarry half a length off third.
