(Received February 14, at 11.20 a.m.) Following a breakdown in negotiations between the Liberal Federation and the Country Party on the question of amalgamation, three of the seven members of tho Country Party in the State Parliament left the party. Among these is Mr -M'lntosh, the leader of the party and Minister of Works in the Butler Government. The Country Party decided to nominate its own members for the forthcoming Federal elections. The members of the Labor Party expressed delight at the possible disruption of the.two sections.
