RIFLE SHOOTING

KAITANGATA CLUB. The Kaitangata Defence Rifle Club fired the second stage of the third competition for the Leo Cup on Saturday in fairly good conditions. Although there was a strong right wind blowing, it was fairly steady,, and, while passing clouds made light changes, on the whole conditions were fairly good, though a few had trouble at the longer range. -The veteran, George Frazer, made ; the fine score of 33 at 600yds, and topped the list for the day. The position for the enp final is now as follows:—J. Frazer 587, R. Kiffo 381, T. Frazer 380, J. Kyle '377, G. Frazer 374. J. Mackie 372, with; others dose up. For the championship J. Frazer appears to have the best chance, his total now being 559, with President F. Carson nearest with 543; R. Kitto 542, W. Carson 541, and W. Oliver 631 are the most prominent of the others.
