MISSING EXPLORERS

RUMORS OF DEATH UHFDUKDED SAFE ARRIVAL AT WEST CHAD Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, February 11. (Received February 13, at 10 a.m.) Relatives have received news that the Glovers arrived safely at West Chad. [A previous message stated; It is feared that the worst has happened to Mr and Mrs Glover, who left England in 1926 for the purpose of making scientific exploration through the Central African desert. News has reached the ‘ Daily Express ’ in a roundabout way that an African merchant living in Manchester has received a letter from an official at Maidujari, in Northern Nigeria, stating: “A runner lias just come in with the bad news that Mr and Mrs Glover were killed in French territory.” Mr and Mrs Glover’s friends in London recently became most anxious because of the sudden stoppage of regular communications. The last letter came from Faya, in French territory. West Africa, 500 miles north-east of Lake Chad. It was written by Mrs Glover on September 28, and was received by her sister at Croydon about Christmas. It stated : “ Wo travelled over a waterless desert, and were often from nineteen to twenty hours in the saddle. 1 am now 700 miles further than any other white woman has ever been.”]
