(Received February Id, at 9 a.m.) Tire Senate Investigating Committee was informed by a witness that at least 25,000 dollars, a part oi the Continental Company’s profits, were traced to the Republican National Campaign deficit of 1920. Mr Will Hays, who was chairman of the Republican National Committee of 1920, and in charge of Mr Harding’s Presidential campaign, telegraphed to the Senate Committee that he had no knowledge of the Continental Trading Company, and that the funds received to make up the party deficit came from individuals. TESTIMONY BY MR ROCKE- ' FELLER. JUN. WASHINGTON, February 11. (Received February 13, at 9 a.m.) Mr John Davidson Rockefeller, jnn., testified before the Senate Oil Committee regarding the mysterious Continental Company deal. Mr Rockefeller protested against being subpoenaed, and declared that an invitation to appear would have been sufficient. ' He severely criticised Colonel Steward’s action. He said: “I have every confidence in Colonel Steward’s integrity, but I am bitterly disappointed that he did not testify.” He stated that he knew nothing about the missing bonds, but would do everything possible to assist the committee.
