(Received February 11, at 11 a.m.) According to the official Navy Department estimate submitted to the House Naval Committee, the proposed five-year naval programme, with construction already begun, would cost 4,176,426,000d01. Seventy-one new ships would be laid down in five years, beginning in 1929, and would bo completed in 1937. The expenditure would bo spread over the period from 1929 to 1937.
