SECOND DAY OF GOP MEETING For tlio second day of the Dunedin Jockey Club’s Cup Meeting the weather was fine and cool and ret resiling after the overnight rain. The downfall did the ground an immense amount ol good, and the track was in excellent condition. There was a very good attendance. Results: OWIIfRO HURDLE HANDICAP, 195 sovs, second 30, third 15. Bed Heather, Beauty Light, and Jack o’ .Lantern led over the first fence, and so they raced round into tho back, where Jack o’ Lantern and Bed Heather opened out a two lengths’ lead Horn Beauty Light, with the others beaten off. Jack o’ Lantern headed Red Heather racing to the lar turn, this pair being a length in front of Beauty Light. At the next to tho last lonec the three,were together. Beauty Light led over the last fence from Jack o’ Lantern, and Relic clouted. Beauty Light drew away on the track to win by six lengths ironi Jack o’ Lantern, with Red Heather eight lengths away. Ellis). From a good line King Balboa- showed out from Luminant and Lady M’Kcnna. At the six furlongs post. Luminant and Lady M'Kenna were just in front of King Balboa. At the far turn they had opened rip a two lengths’ lead Horn King Balboa and Felony. Money Peer ranged alongside Luminant as they raced up tho hill, and they were together turning lor home in trout of King Balboa. At the distance post Luminant drew out Irom Money Peer and King Balboa, with Rotor finishing fast, on file outside. Luminant won by four lengths from Rotor, with Money Peer t-hree-f|iiarters of a length away. Time, fmiu Usee.

Nincompoop moved up to Thormlale as they turned into tho hack, and racing for the far turn Arikiwai led Nincompoop, Queen Balboa, Thormlale, and Sat raj). Satrap commenced to make his run, ami at Ihe foot of the hill took charge, from Thorndale and Countersign, Queen Balboa next. Nincompoop went right back. Thormlale and Countersign led into the straight from Queen Balboa and Front Bank’, where Satrap also dropped hack. Onto in line for home Queen Balboa, Countersign, Front Rank, and Thorndale put up a battle royal right to the post, Queen Balboa finishing a neck in front of Front Rank, with Countersign a neck away, Thormlale fourth, a head lack. Storm, .Apple high ton and Stormy next, Sol rose last. At the foot of the hill Good as Gold was three lengths in front of Sudden Storm, Circulation, and Money Mine. Sudden Storm reduced Good as Gold's lead as they entered tho straight, the pair being followed by Circulation and Stormy. Jn the race homo Sudden Storm overhauled Good as Gold, easily going on to wiii by three lengths. Good as Gold two lengths ahead of Circulation, followed by Stormy and Booster. Time, Imin 16 3-ssec.
