ST. CLAIR CARNIVAL
With the object of improving the public bathing accommodation and facilities at St. Clair the local improvements association has decided to stage a grand seaside carnival on the Esplanade on the evenings of Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of next week, and also on the Saturday alterr.oon. The City Corporation is also giving all the necessary backing to this enterprise, and is arranging to transform the Esplanade into a delightful fairyland of lights. Dancing in the open around the rotunda, with lucky dances thrown in, fireworks displays, games, refreshments, etc., will he amongst the many attractions. A monster baby show and a parade of bathing beauties will be held on the Saturday afternoon. There is certain to be a great crowd, and if the public catch the carnival spirit, the nights should be full of fun, beauty, and merriment. All the proceeds will bo devoted to improve the existing meagre facilities for tho bathing public — so that the carnival should commend itself to public patronage.
