RACE DAY TRAFFIC.
10 THE EDITOR. Sir,— May I through your columns Congratulate the local police pincers on the improvement they have judicious!} brought about in our race day motor traffic? In the past, race day was a nightmare for a large number of motorists who used their cars as a means of transport to and from Wingatui. Ruling on the road is not a healthy form of recreation, and is positively dangeious in a day when such a large amount of traffic is concentrated into a short space of time. The presence of a few policemen at irregular intervals and in unexpected places worked wonders yesterday, and very little road-hogging took place. This is as it should be, and the police, by their action, have earned the thanks of all reasonable users of the road. A bit of “blue’’ is a splendid preventive of all speed disorders.—l am, etc., Not a Seagrave. February 10.
