LAWN TENNIS

FRANCE AND AUSTRALIA. MELBOURNE, February 10. (Received February 10, at 11.30 a.m.) Some bright tennis was seen in the doubles match between Borotra and Boussus and Patterson and O’Hara Wood, in which the Australian pair won, G-4, G-2. Borotra was the outstanding player, with Wood very close behind him. Patterson had a tendency to take his drives too low, and frequently found tho net. until near tho end of the second set did not find his I'cct. Fie seemed nonplussed by the speed of tho play, and mistimed a lot of his volleys. Boussus played on tho right-hand side of the court. Tho Australians were not long in finding tho weakness of his backhand. Patterson served consistently to that corner, and oven when Boussus was able to return the delivery it was generally weak, leaving too much court open.
