RACE BALL AT SAVOY

Last night's fancy dress and masked ball at the Savoy was a striking success. Ml the, accommodation was booked, and the dancers had a. real carnival time. Tt was a good start to a week of jollity and merrymaking in the Tudor Hali, winch was illuminated' and decorated like a fairyland. Alf. Carey And his band played a long programme of the latest, syncopations melodiously and full of pep, the banjo accompaniments and solos of Art Codings being particularly popular. The second attraction—the race ball—will be staged to-night. In other cities the race ball is the, social event of the year, and the Savoy has made a superb effort, to mark Dunedin Cup Day as a social event.
