OPEN-AIR ENTERTAINMENT
At Carisbrook, on Saturday evening next, a unique entertainment will be held. The chief attraction will no doubt prove to ho a quickstep exhibition by the Kaikorai, St. Kilda, Mosgiol, Tramways, and Dunedin Pipe Bands. A quickstep contest is always a great attraction, and as most of these hands are shortly proceeding to the Christchurch baud contest this will be an opportunity for the public to witness them going through the evolutions of the quickstep contest, and will also give an opopr trinity of hearing the marches to he played at the contest. ]n addition some interesting cycle events will he staged, including a mile cycle race, 100yds flat races, one mile, and mile relay race, and a primary school relay race. Arrangements are being made so that there will be no intervals at all. In connection with the an art union is also being held, the prizes being works of art valued at £lO, £6. £.3, £2, £2. These art. union tickets also admit to tht ground, 'and are on sale at the Otago Sports Depot, but will not be on saje at the gate. The proceeds are in aid of the Otago Cricket Association.
