The parliamentary correspondent of the ‘Daily Telegraph’ says that the Government intends that tho session which opens on Tuesday should continue till the end of July. Then the new session, beginning in November, will continue till June, 1929, -when the General Election will be held. A BY-ELECTION. CONSERVATIVES HOLD SEAT. LONDON, February 2. The by-election for West Bristol, due to the elevation of Colonel Gibbs (Conservative) to the peerage, resulted as follows; 0. Culvervvell (Conservative) ... 16,970 Lady Clare Amiosley (Labor) ... 7,702 W. Marcy (Liberal) , 4,996 —A. and N.Z. and ‘ Sun ’ Cable. [At the last election the polling resulted as follow's: —Colonel Gibbs (Conservative), 23,574; M. Giles (Labor), 6,276.]
