OTAHUHU TROTS
[Special to tub ' Stab.’] AUCKLAND. February 3. An offer has been received _ by the secretary of the Otahuhu Trotting Club (Mr R. Absolum) from the trainer of Native Chief, who on February 11 will trv conclusions with Great Bingen in an exhibition pacing bout over a mile at Addington, to visit Auckland, and give an exhibition over a similar distance at the Otahuhu Club’s fixture the following week for'a purse. The-sec-retary, after consultation with the executive, replied that the club did not think it necessary to stage an exhibition go, but would offer a purse of £IOO Tor Native Chief to lower the existing New Zealand mile record, or in the event of the pacer succeeding in reducing the time by two seconds the purse would bo increased to £250.
