A message from Richmond, Virginia, states that the Smith-M'Adoo feud, which resulted in the frustration of the Democratic efforts at the Presidential campaign in 1924. was revived when Mr M'Adoo (former Secretary of the Treasusy) to-day delivered a speech which was a considered attack on Governor Smith’s “web” view. Mr M'Adoo argued that to expect Prohibition enforcement from a President who was hostile to Prohibition was “ upon its face absurd.” He strongly opposed the election of any “wet” candidate.
