MEAL PLANNING
DUNEDIN LADY WINS QOMPETITIOU A meal planning contest, which w 9M organised by the Christchurch ‘ Star, ■ has been won by Miss Vera M. M'Goorge, who was a pupil of the Homo Science School of Otago University, The contest was conducted by the Christchurch newspaper, in conjunction with the Home Economics Association.
In giving her decision. Professor Strong, Dean of Home Science at Otago.University, writes:—“The winner evidently knows a good deal about the subject, and her material was well organised and presented. Her costs are well detailed, and her quantities accurate. She makes a full allowance of milk, a;id good variety in vegetables. Her menus are interesting. The outstanding thing with all the budgets is the comparatively high cost of rent in comparison to food. That is what causes the hardship in planning.”
