LOST GERMAN COLONIES
RETURN DEMANDED A SIGNIFICANT SPEECH. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. BERLIN, September 19. At the annual meeting of the Colonial Association, which has a membership of 20,000, the customary resolutions demanding the return ol the German colonics were carried, and a significant speech was made by Professor Henning upon the exploitation of the League of Nations for German colonial needs. I;fe> insisted that Germany held the best trumps in the negotiations at Geneva, and it was unpardonable if she did not use them. She could direct annihilating criticism at Geneva on the way in Avhich the many mandates were administered. If the mandatory Powers treated the German colonies as their own possessions, then Germany was entitled to-have the value of her colonies credited to her against reparations. Another speaker said it was the bitter truth that Germany would never get her colonies again until she was able to throw the weight of her power into the scale.
