(Received September 19, at 11.45 a.m.) The ‘Sketch’ says that £5,000 has been expended, mostly in vain, during the past three months in attempts to swim the Channel. Tenune, who proposes shortly to swim from England to France, has spent very little, Airs Corson £I,OOO, Zitenfclds £1,500, and others from £l5O to £2oo.—byduey ‘Sun’ Cable.
