VERDUN
A GREAT MEMORIAL INAUGURATION CEREMONY. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. PARIS, September IS. (Received September 19, at 11.20 a.m.) A hundred generals and two cardinals participated- in tho inauguration at Houauraont of a great ossuary to commemorate the heroic defence of Verdun. Tho bodies of fifty unknown soldiers were deposited therein, after which General Retain lighted a perpetual flame in remembrance. General Petain. in his address, revealed the fact that tho Verdun inferno was so frightful that each written order was repeated ten times to ensure one in ten getting through.
