RAGES TO-DAY AT WIHGATUI The Otago Hunt Club’s race meeting, postponed from last Saturday, on account of tho sodden condition of the Wingatui course, was held to-day in fine weather. The course was in very fair winter order, and the attendance was promising at the outset. Results: — SEA VIEW HUNTERS’ HURDLE HANDICAP. 125sovs; second 25, third 12J. Tim. 2 Mr F. Shaw’s Fabriano. Solferino—Fabia), aged, 9.7 (J. Kerr) 1 I—Mr A. G. Macdonald’s The Babe, T 1.9 (D. O’Connor) ... 2 3 Mr A. Savage’s Thistlecrown, 10.2 (A. Youngman) 3 Others: 6 Ecuador (10.6), 4 Arcos (10.0) 5 Monko (9.2) 7 Bandolero (9.0) Monko and Fabriano made the running. Bandolero fell at the six furlongs. Fabriano headed Monko coming to tho straight, and won comfortably by a length and a-half from The Babe, who heat Thistlecrown by two lengths. Monko was fourth. Time, 3min l-6sec. A bad start, Scbottischo, Ark Royal, and Archabby being left. Credit made the pace from Flying Mist, who won by a length, with Ronaki five lengths away, third, Hildreth fourth, Time, Imin ssee. JOCKEY CLUB HANDICAP. 130sovs (open); second 26, third 33. Im. 2Mr J. M. Samson’s Vaward (Bisogno Coronet mare), t syrs, 9.1 (W. Cooper) 1 B—Mr J. Corraick’s Hurdy Gurdy, car. 7.3 (J. Dooley) 2 4—Mr J. Lindsav’s Courtly Rose, car. 7.8 (R." Beale) 3 Others: 7 Blue Dragoon 8.0, 1 Arpeut 7.13, 3 Fairy Tidings 7.10, 6 Tholomon 7.7, 5 Divinial 7.7. Courtly Rose and Divinial got the worst of the start. Hurdy Gurdy made tho running from Arpent, but Vaward got a slant on tho rails at the home turn, and won easily by three lengths. Blue Dragoon finished third five lengths away, but the judge placed Courtly Rose third. Time, Imin 46sec.
