Seventy per cent, voted in Dublin before 7 o’clock, and the Government is optimistic concerning its prospects, as the chief fear .was apathy of the electors.' The reduction in the number of candidates made it easier for voters to use tb’ir preferences. HEAVY POLLING. RCGBY, September 16. (Received September 17, at 11 a.m.) It is believed that a heavy poll was recorded in Dublin, Cork, ancl other large towns in connection with the Irish Free State election yesterday. In the country districts there are also indications of an increased poll, as compared with the last election.
