At Christchurch the Otago Rugby team that has played so doughtily on tour will meet Canterbury, now the holders of the Ranfurly Shield. This is not at stake, but much interest attaches to the result. Other important Rugby fixtures are Wellington v. Auckland, at Auckland, and Nelson-Marlfaorough-Golden Bay v. Duller and West Coast, at Westport, this latter being one in the series of trials in connection with the South African tour.
