LOANS BOARD MEETING

£492,315 APPLIED FOR [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, September 15. At a meeting of tho Local Government Loans Board yesterday thirty applications for loans totalling 11-192,315 were dealt with. Three loans amounting to L 1,950 for unemployment relief works wore .sanctioned, and one for £2,800 was declined on the ground that the loan should be subject to a poll of llio ratepayers, hour renewal loans for €219,000 were sanctioned for £'213,872, tho balance to bo paid off. Eighteen now loans amounting to £221,105 were also sanctioned for £169,416, subject to conditions where the board considered those desirable. Four other loans amounting to £17,400 were either declined or referred back to the local authorities concerned.
