WAGONS DERAILED
MISHAP TO MIXED TRAIN MAIN LINE BLOCK. [Per United Press Association ] AUCKLAND, September 15. When passing Mahia station, between Takani»i and Manurewa, at 7.15 tonight five wagons attached to a mixed goods and passenger train from Frankton Junction were derailed. The first wagon to leave tho lino was the seventeenth from the engine, and then four more wagons immediately behind it were derailed. , , , Meagre particulars are to hand, but it is understood that the damage is not very extensive. No passenger carnages were derailed and so ono was injured. Tho derailment being on tho main line, all traffic was interrupted. The Limited express, which loft Auckland for Wellington at 7.15, was held up at Manurewa, and the ordinary Mam Trunk express, which was to have left Auckland at 7.45, was held up at the Auckland station. In order to cope with the suburban traffic the Railways Department instituted a motor car service between P.apakura and Manurewa, a distance of four miles. , , .. . It is expected that the line will, be cleared by. 1 o’clock in the morning.
