The Royal Commission which was set up to investigate land drainage schemes proposes to visit Holland next week to examine the reclamation and drainage methods adopted by Dutch engineers. Tho Commission is assured of the cordial assistance of the Dutch Government. It is estimated that there are about 1,700,000 acres of land in England and Wales widen need arterial drainage systems. Tho recommendations of (ho Commission, which has already collected much valuable evidence, may'havc an important bearing on tho future of tho agricultural industry.
