TALLOW BALLS. Press Association— By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, September 14. (Deceived September 15, at 10 a.m.) At the tallow sales 1.381 casks were offered and 632 were sold. Prices were unchanged to sixpence advance. Finemutton, 38s per cwt; medium, 345; fine beef, 30s; medium, 33s Cd. LONDON WOOL SALES. LONDON, September 14. (Received September 15, at 10.25 a.m.) At the wool sales there was a good selection of merinos, principally superspinners’ sorts. There was a good lot of greasy cross-breds and a splendid selections of slipes. _ There was keen and general competition, the opening rates being fully maintained. New Zea land sales: H.IL (top price), 14Jd; average, 14 Id; Miuiihau, 17jd and l7d. The National Mortgage and Agency Co., Ltd., haves received tho following cable from London dated 13th inst.“ The auctions opened here today with a largo attendance of buyers and with strong competition. Continental buyers aro operating freely. Generally speaking the market is 4d to Id per lb dearer for all qualities and grades. Slipo wools, scoured merinos, and crossbreds are selling well at par to 5 per cent, increase upon last sales closing rates.” Messrs Murray, Roberts, and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from London:—so’s, yielding 18pl; 44’s-46’s preparing, yielding 15jd; 44's46’s carding, yielding 15d; 40’s-44’s, yielding' 14$; 36’s-40’s, yielding 14d. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., has received the following cable from London under date September 13: —“There was a full attendance at the opening of the sales to-day. The opening catalogues were fairly representative. Competition by Homo and Continental buyers is active, and prices as compared with tho eloso of the preceding series ruled par to 5 per cent, higher for cross-bred wool. (Received September 15, at 1.30 a.m.) At the wool sales the competition was keen and active. All fleece lines and skirtings were firmly maintained. Prices generally were firm at late rates. Good clearances were effected. Greasy merino sold to 291 d. COMPANY DIVIDEND. <* . . [Pee United Psess Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, September 14. The annual accounts of the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-operative Association of Canterbury show that dating the past ’ year the nett _ profit amounted to £19,609, which, with the balance of profit carried forward, loaves £30,772 to credit of tho profit and loss account. The directors recommend the payment of a dividend of 6 per cent, on first preference shares, which was duo on July 31, 1926, amounting to £9,000; and that the balance of profit, £21,772, bo carried forward.
