RUGBY LEAGUE
A'JCRLAHD V. DTAQO Football followers of all codes will no doubt be well pleased with the League’s big attraction on Saturday at the Caledonian Ground. Auckland meets Otago in the annual fixture, as well as playing Otago’s challenge for the Northern Union Cup. The Auck land team will be one of the finest combinations over seen here, including Gregory (the famous back),(Dufty (tho clover three-quarter and kick), Wetherall (the swerving live-eighth), and “Pip” Webb (tho champion half). Wethcrall and Duffy arc two of tho finest exponents of the reverse and scissors pass ever seen in New Zealand. Otago will have its strongest team on tho field for this match, and will have the assistance of fresh blood in Harry Thomas, Tom O’Connor, and Qumii. Teddy APEwan, the brilliant five-eighth, who was unfit last Saturday, is turning out. During the interval a two-mile amateur handicap cycle race will he run for trophies presented by the League. The curtain-raiser is the final for tho Junior Shield between Athletic ana City, starting at 1.45 p.m.
