ANOTHER EXHIBITION
MANUFACTURERS’ PROJECT Dunedin is to have another exliihibition in 1929, though it will not approach in size and scope tho big effort of ]925-26. It will ho a display of Otago-madc goods, and when the great variety of tlie province’s manufactures is taken into consideration, the exhibition. which is to.he controlled by Bio Dunedin Manufacturers’ Association, should compare more than favorably with those held in other centres. Tho matter was discussed _at last evening’s meeting of the council of tlie Dunedin Manufacturers’ Association, when a letter was received from Mr J. W. Collins, of the Department of Indus! rics and Commerce, vho rofoiied to the exhihil ions of provincial-made goods that were held in other centres. Ho stated that the displays held in Wellington and Auckland were verv successful from a propaganda and J'mancinl point of view. “in nl! cases.” lie explained, “ ilie oflicers oi the department wore instructed to cooperate, and the department will _be pleased to assist in the organising work.” The secretary (.Mr W. G. Reid), said the difficulty was in connection with securing a, suitable building, and (hat. prevented them having a combined display with the A. and P. Society for some, time to come. He suggested t hey should hold ;i small exhibition on their own account.

Society had in view the erection of a large'building on the foreshore and another scheme had been put forward to add a storey to the Brydon Mall. IT neither project came off', the display might have to he held in the Drill Hall. They were fortunate in having as president and vice-presi-dent, two men who had been so prominently identified with the big Exhibition.
Tlie chairman (Mr T. Somerville) .said that Air J. I l ’. Johnson, of tho Department of Industries and Commerce, would he able to supply them with seme valuable information. He understood there had been a profit of £2,700 on the recent Auckland effort. Air B. K. Noes said they would have to make arrangements for a. temporary building. After tho third year they might he on i.hcir feet. Mr .1. Sutherland Boss said ho was agreeable to a committee being sot up, but they could hardly expect u report from it until the New Year.
Air (’. Wilson suggested that Hie Town Hall might be available. The following committee, with power to add to its number, was set up to report- to a future meeting:—The president (Mr T. Somerville), vice-president (Mr J. Sutherland Ross), and Messrs Love, Nees, Hogg, ami Mr Johnson (Department- of Industries and Commerce).
