GLEN ROAD.
TO THE EDITOK. Sii-j—As a. frequent traveller up and down tilo Glen road one cannot liclw being struck with tho go-slow method of our City Council. About halt a mile up from tho bottom there is a slip of some person’s property lying on tho footpath, and it is gradually creeping over towards the gutter; running water is also draining from it across the path. Such has been the state tor eight or tea weeks now, and it seems to mo that the council is playing a waiting game in tho removal of it. while the owner is doing likewise, much to tho discomfort of pedestrians. Mothers pushing their go-carts up or down the hill are forced to go on to tho newly-metalled road, the remaining part of the path not being wide enough for them to pass on. Only last week one of tho council s engineers was inspecting a place not 30yds from this obstruction, but still nothing has been done. Surely someone has authority to order this to be removed, or is a blind eye being shown so as not to hurt someone’s feelings?—l am. etc., Observant-. September 13.
