RETURNS FOR AUGUST INCREASE IN EXPORTS. Press Association— By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, September 12. (Received September 13, at 9.10 a.m.) Tho Board of Trade returns for August show that the value of imports into Britain decreased by £11,036,000, while tho exports increased by £9,623,000, and the re-exports of foreign and colonial produce wore greater by £222,000. The decreases in imports were chiefly non-dutiablo food and drink £1.335,000, coal £7,039,000, and oils and fats £2,057,000. The increases included, in imports, wool and timber £1.430.000, and in exports coal £3,536,000 and iron and steel manufactures £2,007,000.
