MANCHESTER UNITY

LOYAL OUTRAN LODGE The meeting of the Loyal Outram Lodge, M.'L1.1.0.0.F., held last evening, was largely attended, the occasion being an. official visit from sister lodges. Some sixty brethren journeyed from Dunedin, unci these, augmented by a large quota from Mosgiel, brought the attendance to well over 100. The N.G. (tiro. Barclay) was in tho chair, and welcomed the visitors, expressing particular pleasure at the presence ol Loyal Princess Mary members, who were visiting Outram for the first time. P.G.M. Bro. Btabb and P.D.G.M. Bi o. Johnson were present, representing the District Executive, a telegram being read from P.P.G.M. Bro. Clarke and Erov. Treas Bro. Sligo, who are at present in Queenstown. Tho P.G.M. referred sympathetically to Bro. Sligo’s indifferent health, expressing the hope that his sojourn in the Central would prove beneficial. Touching on executive matters, tho P.G.M. stated that tho scheme recently brought into operation for tile distribution of the large surplus funds was working smoothly. The P.D.G.M. apologised for tho nonattendance of Prince of Wales members, who, however, wore actively engaged in preparations for tho halfyearly meeting of delegates at Pori Chalmers on the 28th inst. Tho visitors’ toast was responded to by members of Princess Mary,.Mosgiel. Albion, Dunedin, Cavcrsham, Valley, and Hand and Heart Lodges.

. At tho conclusion of the ordinary meeting harmony was following contributing .to a fiut-class programmeßros. Young, Bathgate, Sisters Robinson and. Roddell (songs), Sister Isaacs (recitation), Bro. Freeman (accordion solo). The Allanton Orchestra rendered several pleasing selections, and also provided good music for a short dance which followed. Th<* evening terminated shortly after 11 o’clock.
