PETRIFIED WHALE

WOOKMEN'S DISCO VERY. Workmen engaged in digging a channel at a depth of 20ft at Buubury, Western Australia, recently, to allow Hood waters to escape to the sea, came across the bones of a petrified whale, estimated to have been 80ft in length. The bones were not in a good state of preservation, and crumbled at slight pressure. A human skull was also discovered in the same state. _ The limestone formations in this region arc exceedingly fossiifcrous, numerous objects of minor interest being periodically discovered.
