The Kairanga arrived at _ Port Chalmers this .morning from Wellington, and was berthed at the company’s lay-up wharf for flic present. The Gale, which arrived yesterday morning from Wellington, is timed to sail to-night for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui.
The Storm is due on Thursday from Lyttelton,- aitd is to sail tho same day for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. The Waipiata was to leave Lyttelton at 4 o’clock this afternon for Dunedin, where she is due to-morrow. Alter discharge of her cargo she will dock at Port Chalmers. The vessel is timed to sail on Wednesday for Auckland via ports. . The Opihi was to leave Timaru today for Dunedin. She will load out to-morrow lor Nelson, New Plymouth, aud Westport via ports. Tho Wingatui was to leave Auckland to-day for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin.
The Ivanna is expected to leave Port Chalmers to-morrow for Bluff.
The British Imperial Oil Company’s new oil ship Paua arrived at Bluff yesterday from England via Singapore. The vessel, which is on her maiden voyage, has a cargo of bulk oil for discharge at Bluff, Timaru, and Lyttelton. The Paua has been specially built for distributing bulk oil at New- Zealand ports. A dharter has been arranged for the steamer Sutherland (5,175 tons) to load phosphate at Nauru Island for discharge at either New Zealand or Australian ports. The Holmdalc arrived Ibis morning from Wellington, and is timed to sail to-night for Wellington and Wangauni via ports. THE FERRY SERVICE. Tho Maori, from Wellington, arrived at Lyttelton at 7 a.m. yesterday, and passengers and mails came south by to-day’s express. PASSENGERS ON NALDERA. The following passengers for New Zealand are travelling by the P. and O. liner Naldcra, which was duo at Sydney from London on Wednesday:— Miss Frank, Miss Newman, Mr Hornabrook, Mr and Mrs Breeze, Mr Kibhy, Mr Jackson, Mr Mannd, Mr Collette. On her arrival at Auckland from Port Stephens on 'Wednesday morning, tlie Lamb steamer Oinana, reported passing Hie three-masted schooner Margaret W. early last Monday morning, The Margaret W. is en route from Sulney with a cargo of poles lor discharge at Kopu. SHIPPING OFFICERS’ GUILD. The seventh annual meeting of the Auckland branch of the Shipping Officers’ Guild was held on Wednesday evening, about thirty members being present. Mr E. H. Wing occupied the chair, ft was decided to forward a remit to Wellington favoring payment of wages every fortnight instead of every month, as at present. Members expressed appreciation of the long service rendered by Mr F. J. O’Mara, who bad been president since the formation of the branch. Mr Wing was elected president, and Mr.A. G. Aitken secretary. KENT REP.ORTS. According to a radio message received, Hie Federal steamer Kent is expected to arrive at Auckland at C p.m. next Wednesday from Liverpool. The Kent is bringing cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and New PJyniouth. PAKEHA TO LOAD. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company advises that the Pakeha, after discharge at Napier, will load at Wanganui roadstead, Lyttelton, Timaru, Port Chalmers, Bluff, and Wellington. She is expected at Port .Chalmers on October 15, and will sail finally from Wellington about October 28 for London via Montevideo. PERSONAL. Captain F. L.
