PRINCESS THEATRE

BAND BOX REVUE. Commencing at. the matinee this afternoon, Mr Gnylo Wycr s Band Box Revue Company offered its lirst performance of ‘The Black Eagle’ before a large and delighted audience, fins company enjoys tho unique distinction of being the only one on the Australasian circuit which carries lour good comedians. Seldom do vaudeville shows have more than one “ funny man ” in the cast. Hut, the Band Box Revue is not composed entirely of humor and nonsense. Far Irom it, (1 hero arc several outstanding vocalists wl o have already become Involutes with local theatre-goers by virtue of the fact tjiat their offerings are particularly pleasing and well executed. The dressing has never been equalled at the Princess, whilst the scenery and general appointments leave nothing to bo desired. A very successful season is predicted for this clever band of “different” entertainers. The new production is ‘ The Black Eagle,’ a nondescript conglomeration of musical comedy and nonsense. Of plot there is quite a lot in which cowboys, pretty girls, and an officious sheriff have important parts. The tale is one of the Wild West, and deals with tlie life of a dangerous and daring individual known as “ Black Eagle,” who is tho terror of the township. Like all revues, this one ends up with everyone happy and satisfied, although the trials and tribulations that many of the characters go through are many and varied. Box plan details are advertised in' this issue.
