Malinouske. wife of tbe public executioner, sued her husband bu divorce on the grounds that 3ns income has suffered through the falling-off in executions, duo to tbe executive clemency of tbe President, who has pardoned most of the men recently condemned to death. As a result her-husband is no longer able to support her “ in the manner to which, she lias been accustomed. The divorce has been granted., Not long ago the executioners m France complained that their incomes were suffering through the practice of commuting sentences of death to life imprisonment. They appealed to the President to discontinue the practice.
