ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
MOTOR OVER BANK—ONE KILLED. A latal motor accident occurred on the main highway six miles south of Ekctahuna early yesterday afternoon, whereby Charles .Edward Cutts, proprietor of Morrison’s Bush Hotel, was killed. A party of four South Wairarapa publicans—Messrs Cutts, G. A. Vincent (Feathorston), C. A. Gray (Carterton), and R. Irvine (Taratalii), were proceeding by car to Mangatainoka, and on a narrow part of the road the motor was slowed down to pass a stationary service car. The hub of the front wheel of Mr Vincent’s car fouled the back wheel hub of the service car, resulting in the former vehicle toppling over the bank. Mr Cutts was pinned under the car, and suffered severe injuries to his head. He died on the way to Masterton Hospital. Tho other three were admitted to hospital with minor cuts and abrasions. Mr Vincent was later discharged, but Messrs Gray and Irvine wore detained for observation. Mr Irvine, who is tho father of tho All Black, is a recent arrival in the distinct from Hawke’s Bay.
