MELBOURNE CLUB TEAM'S ViCII Press Association-By Telegraph-Copyright. MELBOURNE, January 13. The executive of the Victorian Cncket Association considered the application of the Melbourne Cricket Club for permission to send a team to New Zealand at the end of the month. The executive expressed approval of the trip being made, but agreed that the matter came under the jurisdiction of the Board of Control. Arrangements for the tour are .ield up pending the board’s' sanction being obtained. ‘DAILY TIMES’ V. COMBINED THEATRICALS The English Conntfy Company and the Hector St. Clair Revue Company combined played a match against the ‘ Daily Times ' at the Caledonian Ground yesterday- Batting first, ‘ Daily Times ’ compiled 143 for six_ wickets (declared). The visitors replied with 75 for eight wickets, Pearce (59) giving a good display. For the ‘ Daily Times ’ Bowie (53 retired) and Duncan (24 retired) wore. the chief scorers.
