MEDIATION ATTEMPTED, BUT SPURNED BY STRIKERS. Press Association—By Telegraph-Copyright "LONDON, July 18. (Received July 19, at 1 p.m.) Twenty-two Unionist and Liberal members of the House of Commons, representing London constituencies, have circularised both masters and men. The circular urges the masters to consider the men'« grievances through the individual unions. It also recommends the men to return forthwith, and suggests that the Port of Tendon Authority should reinstate, in their former positions any old employees so re-engaged. The Strike Committee resent inte:ference by members of Parliament, and declate that none of their suggestions are acceptable to tho strikers.
