' Dr Von Haast wrote, stating that he believed that live chamois could be got from Munich by tho preliminary expenditure of LIOO. The Chaikman did not think that the state of the Society's finances would warrant the expenditure just at present. It would be a gain to tho whole of the Soutli Island to have them in the Alpß. He suggested that the co-opJßratibn of other Acclimatisation Societies should be obtained in communicating with the Government. tt was resolved to request GoVcrnment to take Bteps for the introduction of live chamois.
