THE COURTS-TO-DAY.

CITY POLICE COURT. (Before E. H. Carew, Esq., R.M.) Dkunke.nne.ss.— Jamas William* was discharged ; Maria Swan and John Machinlay wore each fined ss, in default twenty-four hours'imprisonment. Larceny. William Mariner pleaded guilty to stealing a pair of trousers and a vest of the value of 18s 6d, the property of John 11. Carter, George street.—He was sentenced to two months' imprisonment. Light Weight. William Blackwood pleaded guilty to having in his possession at Caversham 2oz and lib weights which were each light to the extent of two drams. —He was fined 10s and costs.

Destroying the Town Belt, Kay, a little boy, was fined la and costs, in default twenty-four hours' imprisonment, for setting fire to scrub on the Town Belt. Larceny and Assault. —On'the cases of Michael Parker v. Patrick Daly and Patrick Daly v. Michael Parker being called neither .party appeared. The former, which was a case of assault, was struck out. Parker was, however, charged with the larceny of a pair of trousers, and His Worship said this case could not be allowed to fall through simply on account of the non-appearance of of' the parties. It would therefore be adjourned until Thursday.
