Drunkenness. - Harriet Perin was fined ss; in default, twenty-four hours' imprisonment.

Adams and El >eu Adams, each of whom bore evidence oi a recent squabble in the form of black eyea, pleaded guilty to charges of drunkenness.—Sergeant-major Bevan stated that prisoners kept a brothel in Maclaggan street some time since. Ihe woman went out at night and took half drunken men to the house, sleeping with them in a room outside the house while the husband slept in an inner room.—'l hey were each fined 40s ;in default, seven clays' imprisonment.—The female prisoner flourished her bank-book, aud assured the Tench that she intended to increase the Court coffers by paying the fines. Wife Desertion'.—Andrew Scotland was charged with deserting his wife at Auckland on November 14, lS7i3. The charge was dismissed, it being understood that an amicable arrangement had been arrived at.

Assault.—William M'Millan was fiied 40s, in default seven days' imprisonment, for assaulting Elizabeth Laurie.
