VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.

COLONIAL PRIZE FIRING. The Artillery Company and Dunedin Naval Brigade held their second and final competition at the North Dunedin range yesterday afternoon, for representatives at the Colonial meeting. The conditions were as before—2oo, 250, 300, and 400 yards; seven shots at each; and the two highest aggregate scorers in the two matches are to be the Colonial Carbine representatives for Dunedin. Appended are the results of yesterday’s firing;—

Lieut. Muir and Sergt. Kettle are the highest aggregate scorers, and -will consequently be the carbine representatives for Dunedin :

Firing in the second stage for infantry reEresentatives was commenced this morning y the City Guards, Major Stavely in command. The ranges were the same as in the first stage, and average shooting was made. The three highest aggregates in the two competitions are the Dunedin representatives.
