The amount of revenue received at the Customhouse on goods cleared for consumption this day was 1344 4s 7d.

The business of the past week has been very brisk ; the demand for up-country is goed, and several heavy parcels of goods have changed hands at full prices. In the import market sugar, brandy, kerosene, American salmon and com sacks have maintained the advance mentioned last week, Henessy’s brandy in bulk obtains 9s 6d, and case. 3.1s 6d. The arrival of the Josephine from New York has given a timely supply of kerosene to a market almost bare of stock, and this may tend to check further rise, at least for a time. Dried fruits are in demand. Elemes command ssd; currants, sd; sultanas, 7,d; muscatels, Is. A few slight alterations have taken place in drysalteries. Cream of tartar finds ready sale at Is 6sd; carbonate of soda, 20s Cd. The season of the year usually has an effect on confectionery, which has not as yet been affected by the rise in sugar. It is, however, much inquired for. Keilor’s assorted is selling at lOd ; jujubes, Is o|d ; marmalade, 7s 10$ d. Ale and beer are In good supply. Guinuess’s stout, 11s 6d ; Deviuish’s ale, 10s; Tennant’s, lls.
