Rifles, Ac., Long or short Snider, Enfield, or carbines; 577-bore, us issued by the Government - minimum pull of trigger, 61bs ; sights us per Government pattern; sights may be blackened, but no other color will bg allowed. Cadets to fire with the arms snpiilied to their respective corps. In match No. 8 any rifles or sights may be used, provided they nre in accordance with Wimbledon regulations 1875, minimum pull of trigger, 31bs; only two competitors allowed to fire from one rifle ia this match. No artificial rests allowed. Steel barrel rifles are permitted to compete. Slugs may be used, provided they are attached to the swivels on the stock of the rifle and are of Government pattern. No tampering with rifles allowed, and the Council may, at its discretion, disqualify any competitor from competing in any one match or for the whole meeting if found guilty of any improper act. In such case the entrance money and subscription to lie forfeited. JLnaooedieuce to the officer in charge of tke squad to be sufficient to disqualify competitor for that match. All complaints to be made to the officer in charge, who will, if necccssary, enter a protest with the Council, who will cause the matter complained of to bo investigated. Any competitor having his rifle loaded unless when in front of |his squad aud about to fire, or discharging his rifle unless at the target without the permission of the officer in charge, to be fined 2s fid for the first offence; the penalty for tue second offence being disqualification for the match in which it occurs. Every competitor, under the penalty of disqualification, to present his rifle for testing and examination to the officer in charge immediat-ly upon the completion of his shooting ; the rifles may be examined or tested at any time during the firing, at the discretion of the officer in charge. Carbines to be allowed two points at 600 yards in matches of seven shots at each range, aud throe points in matches of ten shots at each range. In order to gain this allowance competitors to fire through the match with a carbine. 'lies to be dicided according to Colonial Govern mont regulations. In case of a tie between Euflelds and carbines, the highest actual score on the target to be the winner. Fees payable.—Members' subscription, 10s 6d ■ entry money for each match, 2s Pd- Cadet® Is only. Arrangements have been made for a special train to leave town at a quarter past four each morning. Full programmes can bo obtained, and tho prizes seen, at the Secretary’s Office, I’riuces street.
