Tuesday, November 2S. (Before his Worship the Mayor and K. Ramsay, Esq., J.P's.) Neglected Child.—William Stiang, an infant in arms, was brought before the Court as neglected. The mother of the child died in the hospital shortly after delivery, and the father was represented to be a, drunkard and a worthless fellow. The babe was committed to the Industrial School for seven years, and ordered to be reared in the Roman Catholic form of persuasion Cruelty to a Horse.—William Hallingworth was charged with ill-treating a horse in Rattray street on the 17th inst. by striking it with a shoe.—He was 17s, including costs. 5 Stealing Timber.—John Lockhart, John Cunningham, and George Horan, three little fellows, were charged with stealing a quantity of wood of the value of sixpence, the property of James M'Cormack.—Prosecutor stated that a considerable quantity of wood had been stolen from a building which he was erecting. The accused were caught by a constable removing some pieces.—The boys were reprimanded and discharged.
