The amonnt of revenue received at the Customhouse on goods cleared for consumption this day was 1.735 2s lOd. The ‘Ballarat Star* remarks that a very neat litiie speculation in sugar has been made by a Melbourne firm lately. Moss' a Dalgety, Blackwood, and Co. are said to have invested L'-tO.OUC in eight cargoes of sugar, which they arc holding. The Sugar Company hold about 3,000 tons,, which they yefu.se to sell to the firm which already hold so much, and but for this, sugar, which in some classes ling already risen L 5 par ton, would have gone up much more. Two more cargoes are expected to arrive before the end of theyeir; but they will not affect Messrs Dalgety, Blackwood, and Co. much, even if-they are unable to purchase them. [By TELKGiurH.] Wellington’, November 24.—Mr O’Shea reports produce prices -Flour, Ll7 los to Llßlos, advancing; Adelaide, LkOf oats. 3s 3d; bran, Is 4d; wheat, none; .pollard. 5 bams, 9d to lOd; bacon, 7d to 8d; cbeese, lOd; potatoes, 80s; maize, 4s to 4s 6d.
